Hi 'mmc' (?),
I'm a Dutch 206 GTi owner to be (two weeks to
delivery, ppfffff) and have been watching your site grow over the last
three months. Here's something you might find of interrest.
During the Paris Motorshow Peugeot had two new
derivatives of the 206 'hidden' on the sports stand. They are easily
beeing mistaken for a WRC but:
Sarting early spring Peugeot (France?) is starting
a junior championchip with factory built 206 1.600 ltr (wide body) rally
cars (see picture) and 1.997 ltr (narrow body?). After cheking through e-mail at
Peugeot france, the 1600 rally cup was confirmed. It was further explained that
it will be possible to buy the factory built kits via the internet just
like the 106 and 306 today (Need rally licence? I don't know).
After checking Peugeot.com it apears that there is
a difference between the english and french version of the Peugeot Sport site.
The French site has an extra option called 'boutique'. By clicking it, you'll
get access to a complete illustrated parts catalogue of all road and gravel
versions of the 106 and 306 rally. This includes part numbers and prices for
most of the items.
(e.g. like to buy a rally seat in your 306 GTi-6
'wide body'? It looks like this:)
So, starting early next year the 206 WRC
conversion kit should be visible and purchasable there?!? This leaves
3 to 4 months to work on my French.......
I hope you can do somthing with this info.
Compliments on the site!
Kind regards,
Arwi Klip
